Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
The Lantern Society is offered as a subscription. This policy explains how your subscription works and how to change or cancel it.
How your subscription works
When you subscribe, you'll receive repeat deliveries based on the plan you choose. Your payment details are stored securely by our payment providers, and you'll be charged automatically at the start of each billing period. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel. We'll always make the price, billing frequency, and renewal clear before you subscribe.
How to cancel your subscription
If you wish to step away from our stories, you can manage your journey easily from your own account, whenever you like:
-
Log in and click your profile at the top of the site.
-
Click My Subscriptions from the menu.
-
Select the Lantern Society plan you'd like to cancel.
-
Click the More Actions arrow, then Cancel Subscription.
-
Click Yes, Cancel to confirm.
Your My Subscriptions page will then show the plan as cancelled, and you'll stop being charged from the end of your current period. If you have any trouble at all, just email us at [your email] and we'll take care of it for you.
We appreciate you being part of our world — and our lantern will always stay lit, should you choose to return.
When your cancellation takes effect
When you cancel, it takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You'll continue to receive any deliveries you've already paid for up to that date, and you won't be charged again. We don't refund the remainder of a billing period after you cancel, as you keep the benefit of what you've already paid for until the period ends.
Changing your plan
If you'd like to change your plan rather than cancel, you can manage this from your My Subscriptions page, or contact us and we'll help.
Refunds and faulty items
This policy covers cancelling or changing your subscription. For returns, faulty items, or lost post, please see our Refund Policy.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
